I get to boast

Here's my first cardigan, made for my granddaughter... I'm awfully chuffed about this.

OK, sandbagger, time to come clean. You're not "just learning" to knit, are you?

It looks great!

Wow! Boast away! I have often said i will never attempt to create any clothing with yarn, I am just too intimidated. The sweater is beautiful! Love the buttons. :)

I am re-learning. I learned to do basic knitting (knit was good, purl wasn't) when I was about 8? I remember making one potholder... and that was about it. I wasn't good at it and it was awkward for me. I've been crocheting for years.

Ah, that is gorgeous! I love the butterfly buttons on it too! I do basic knitting, but never got beyond knitting on 4 needles (in the round) in a stockinette stitch (hat making). I would LOVE to knit socks or sweaters...I just do scarves and hats right now...oh well! Your granddaughter is a lucky girl!

I love my circular needles. short, easy and I can't lose one. on the crowded Metro- its the only way to go. Actually, I don't work on long needles at all. Have a lovely pair I was given by a good friend - need to find something to make on them.

LM - you are the knitting as crack dealer extraordinaire. without your prodding, and wanting to do something with my hands other than using them to stuff my face - I would never have re-learned how to do this, nor would I have been brave enough to do something like this one.. So thank you, Mom.

Beautiful! I remember when I grandma knitted me sweaters and tops all the time. She has knitted all my babies blankets too! They rock!
