John Wayne vs. pukka british stiff upper lip

The article I have linked to is from the Telegraph. It's a whole different way of looking at the war in Iraq. The Bush administration continually says that we are not in the business of Empire Building... you coulda fooled me. And we aren't fooling anyone else in the world, either... Take a look at the article and remember, the Empire Builders of Britain, in the Cecil Rhodes, Clive of India mold didn't use overwhelming force. Big business (the East India Company, Diamond miners) followed the conquerors.... Halliburton/Brown & Root, anyone?

Howdy, LAW! I followed you back from Cowgirl's. That article was kind of funny to me. It reminded me of the scene from Fahrenheit 9/11 where Wolfowitz spits on his comb before an interview. I know it was more serious than that but it's late. How's your husband doing?

Very true. Just this past week we had Rumsfeld blowing off criticism of retired generals because they didn't have enough stars and the leak that the administration is "considering" nuclear option against Iran. While Iran is spoiling for a fight, using WMD's against any country would be a disaster. If we are attacked by Iran or by terrorist action, then we might have justification. I think even Israel would think hard about using their arsenal of nukes against Iran, even if attacked.
Thanks Brian

Imagine! Someone accusing us of macho posturing and being autocratic! Where does he get off?

Let's have him shot.
